Operation Blue Lightning was formed last summer to stop the flow of drugs from the Bahamas into the United States. Operation Blue Lightning then became the permanent Blue Lightning Strike Force, which uses the well known U.S. Customs Cigarette boats touted by Vice President George Bush, who heads a task force against drugs in the southern United States.
